Meet the Couple

Ashley grew up on the west coast and has lived in Arizona, California, Oregon, and Washington. In her spare time she loves to play tennis, do puzzles, try new restaurants, and hyperfixate on new hobbies she quickly loses interest in. Josh grew up in Charlottesville, Virginia and is a die hard UVA fan. Anyone who knows Josh can tell you that some of his favorite things include Orioles baseball, his fish tank, and his PS5. Ashley and Josh met during their first year of law school at the University of Richmond. They connected playing flag football and later spent the whole night talking at the school holiday party. Having enjoyed each other’s company, they quickly became inseparable (like “two balls in a sack” as Josh would say). The couple loves to take roadtrips to new cities. Some of their favorite places to travel together are Manteo, North Carolina and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. When they aren’t traveling, Ashley and Josh stay in and cuddle up on the couch with their pets Eve, Eddie, and Goose. After the years they have spent together, Ashley and Josh are excited to take the next step in their relationship and continue to build their lives together.

What to Expect

Cocktail Hour 

Our cocktail hour will feature a fresh seasonal fruit tray, a veggie and dip tray, a cheese tray, cookies and a mini pastry tray. Water, lemonade, tea, and coffee will be available in addition to wine, beer, cider, and seltzer.

Dinner 

We will have pulled chicken and sliced brisket with mashed potatoes, sautéed veggies and garden salad with italian or ranch dressing. Buns, cornbread and assorted bbq sauces will also be available.

Dessert

Dessert options will include banana pudding, key lime pie, and cake.

Welcome to Charlottesville!

If you are not local to Virginia or would like to make a weekend out of your trip to the Charlottesville area, there is plenty to do!

Some restaurants that we would recommend include: Sal’s Caffe Italia, Bodo’s Bagels, and Farm Bell Kitchen.

We would also recommend exploring the downtown mall, visiting Carter’s Mountain Orchard, walking around UVA, or stopping by one of the many historical sites in town.

How to get there

Please put the full address into your GPS: 9 Golden Horseshoe Road, Stanardsville, Virginia 22973. If you are traveling West on Route 33:  Follow US-33 West and pass the town of Stanardsville. The road will narrow and you begin to travel uphill. The Inn is located on left side of the road after the Lydia Log Cabin building with the Red Tin Roof. Turn left onto VA-625/Goose Pond Road take an immediate right into the parking lot. If you are Traveling East on Route 33:  After passing the Swift Run Gap entrance to Skyline Drive, you will begin to descend the mountain. You will pass a sign stating “You are now leaving Shenandoah National Park.” Take the next right onto Rt. 625/Goose Pond Road. Take a right into our parking lot on Golden Horseshoe Road.
